Metaphoric Perceptions of Teachers, Students, and Parents towards Social Media

Social media, one of the modern communications and socialization channels, has become indispensable tools education. This study, it was aimed to reveal perceptions teachers, students, parents about concept “social media” through metaphor. In this which used a phenomenology design, is qualitative research methods, data were collected using structured online metaphor form. A total 166 people participated in study with role teacher, student, or parent. Among these, responses matching structure 136 analyzed content analysis method. As result analysis, concluded that metaphors classified under categories “Addiction”, “Not real”, “Everything it”, “Communication channel”, “Usage”, “Indispensable”, “Feature”, “Harmful”. The participants mostly “bottomless well”, “life”, “drugs”, “swamp”, “news tool”, “alcohol”, “mask”, “car”, “virus” for social media. line these results, benefit from advantages media education, recommended provide awareness training parents. also towards generally negative.
